Traditional Comb Impact Testing

Technicians must anchor an eye bolt into cement at either end of the escalator in order to pull the ASME required 800lb of test force using a "come-along" tool. This poses a danger to the technician due to the possibility of anchor point failure - typically a dangerous sudden release of kinetic energy.

Further, eye bolt anchors are usually placed only in a single point roughly mid-tread at either end of the escalator since setting up multiple anchor points is time-consuming and can weaken the cement base. Inspectors could request that multiple points - mid-tread/either side - be measured for accuracy.

Simply Place and Measure

StopLoss has developed a Plug-&-Play solution to the limitations and dangers of conventional comb impact testing.

The CIVL-SD Comb Impact Tester is fast, easy to use, and accurate. Best of all - Technicians no longer need to engage in the time-consuming and dangerous practice of using cement-anchored eye-bolts for comb impact testing
